No. 15 Iowa holds a 3-0 lead over Minnesota after the first quarter in Kinnick Stadium.

Iowa took the ball 68 yards on the opening drive before stalling at the 12 yard line, setting up a 30 yard field goal by Daniel Murray to put the Hawkeyes ahead 3-0. The drive was highlighted by consecutive runs of 26 and 10 yards by freshman running back Adam Robinson, who collected 51 total yards rushing on the drive.

Minnesota’s opening drive resulted in a punt after netting just 18 yards, and Iowa’s ensuing drive ended in a three-and-out.

On the next drive, the Golden Gophers converted on a fourth-and-1 run by backup quarterback Marquis Gray. The Hawkeyes’ Broderick Binns and Christian Ballard combined to sack starting Minnesota quarterback Adam Weber earlier in the drive, which ended several plays later after a Weber pass to Gray for 6 yards.
