Iowa leads Ohio State, 41-33, at halftime of Big Ten championship game

INDIANAPOLIS — The Iowa women’s basketball team leads No. 10 Ohio State, 41-33, at halftime of the Big Ten Tournament championship game at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Kelly Krei leads the Hawkeyes with 12 points in the first half. The Iowa City native was 5-of-10 from the floor. Krei also grabbed six rebounds, three of which were offensive boards.

Iowa junior Kachine Alexander added 11 points and five rebounds.

Jantel Lavender, the Big Ten Player of the Year, leads the Buckeyes with 12 points. She ended the half on the bench after picking up two personal fouls. Ohio State sophomore point guard Samantha Prahalis was also benched for the remainder of the half after picking up two early fouls. Prahalis is scoreless thus far.

The Hawkeyes had six steals in the first half.
