Hawkeye football player Julian Vandervelde, President of the University of Iowa Democrats Jacob Rosenberg, and Miss Iowa, Anne Michael Langguth will join President Obama today as he addresses a crowd of 3,000 at the Field House.

Along with a handful of other campus leaders, Vandervelde, Rosenberg, and Langguth will open the event with music, our national anthem, and an invocation.

White House officials said the president will speak about the recently signed health care law. The event starts at 1 p.m.

The Daily Iowan will be providing live updates all day.
