Big Ten to announce divisions tonight

The Big Ten will announce its new-look football division realignments tonight at 6 p.m. Central Time.

The realignment will begin for the 2011 season when the Nebraska Cornhuskers join the conference.

ESPN’s Andy Katz is reporting the Hawkeyes will be in the same division as Michigan, Nebraska, Michigan State, Northwestern and Minnesota, while the other division will consist of Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana and Illinois.

The Big Ten Network will air the announcement live in a 90-minute special with Commissioner Jim Delany and several Big Ten Athletics Directors expected to comment.
