The Iowa men’s basketball team (11-9, 3-4 Big Ten) leads Nebraska (10-9, 2-6), 38-31, at halftime of a Big Ten game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Leading the Hawkeyes thus far is Zach McCabe, who hit his first five shots from the floor. He finished the half with 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting while adding 5 rebounds and an assist. The sophomore forward also recorded 2 steals.
Iowa tallied 12 bench points, paced by Aaron White’s 7 on 2-of-3 shooting.
Foul trouble limited Melsahn Basabe and Devyn Marble to only nine minutes each. Both were charged with two fouls.
Nebraska’s Brandon Richardson was 2-of-3 from 3-point range on his way to scoring a team-high 10 points. Bo Spencer — the team’s leading scorer coming in at 14.8 points per game — added 8 points.
