Two Iowa City high schools rank among best in the state

Two Iowa City schools rank among the top five high schools in the state.

According to Newsweek Magazine‘s America’s Best High Schools 2012, Iowa City West and Iowa City High rank as no. 1 and 5 in the state, respectively.

Newsweek‘s annual report ranks the 1,000 best high schools in the country based on six criteria: four-year graduation rate, college-acceptance rate, number of Advanced Placement and high-level exams given per student, average SAT/ACT and AP/college-level test scores, and number of AP courses offered per student.

Iowa City West ranked no. 462 in the country while Iowa City High was no. 880.
