<p>No. 1 Iowa shut down Iowa Lakes Community College, 52-0, during the Hawkeyes&#8217; third meet of the Iowa City Duals on Friday.</p>
<p>Six Iowa grapplers posted pins against the Lakers, with sophomore heavyweight Jordan Johnson capturing his the quickest in 57 seconds.</p>
<p>Iowa redshirt freshman Matt McDonough opened with a first-period (1:06) pin against Tim Francisco at 125 pounds.</p>
<p>Senior 149-pounder Brent Metcalf followed suit two weights later, locking up Iowa Lakes freshman Victor DeJesus for a fall in 1:46.</p>
<p>At 157, Hawkeye junior Jake Kerr seized his second pin of the day, sticking Lakers freshman Austin Lindsay to the mat in the third period (5:35).</p>
<p>Seniors Jay Borschel (174) and Phillip Keddy (184) both picked up pins as well. Borschel tallied his third straight in 2:21, while Keddy notched his first early in the second period.</p>
<p>Dan LeClere at 141 managed a technical fall over Matt Catalano.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, seniors Daniel Dennis (133), Ryan Morningstar (165), and Chad Beatty (197) each tallied major decisions.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Iowa wrestling team concluded the Iowa City Duals with a 51-0 win over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Friday night inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.</p>
<p>The Hawkeyes went 10-for-10 for the fourth time, recording six pins, a technical fall, a major decision, and a pair of decisions along the way.</p>
<p>The night&#8217;s hometown hero, redshirt freshman Matt DcDonough, opened the final dual meet with a first-period pin (1:35) against Cougar freshman Dustin Young. The product of Marion, Iowa finished with two pins, two technical falls, and a major decision.</p>
<p>Senior 141-pounder Dan LeClere also posted his second pin of the day, seizing his with three seconds remaining in the first period against SIUE sophomore Dillon Pousson.</p>
<p>At 149, defending Big Ten champion Brent Metcalf managed his fifth straight fall against freshman Kyle Lowman. The senior registered 992 total seconds of mat time during the six-squad meet.</p>
<p>Senior 174-pounder Jay Borschel spent nearly half that amount during his five-fall pursuit, wrestling for 498 seconds throughout the day. Borschel seized a 13-second fall against sophomore Tim Mahoney.</p>
<p>Ryan Morningstar (165) and Phillip Keddy (184) also tallied pins in their final matches — both coming in the first period.</p>
<p>Iowa 197-pounder Chad Beatty captured the Hawkeyes&#8217; lone technical fall against SIUE, while heavyweight Jordan Johnson and 157-pounder Jake Kerr earned decisions against the Cougars.</p>

<p>Nothing changed in the Hawkeyes&#8217; fourth match.</p>
<p>Iowa recorded their third consecutive shutout in the Iowa City Duals, beating North Carolina Pembroke, 47-0, inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.</p>
<p>Redshirt freshman Matt McDonough (125), and seniors Daniel Dennis (133), Ryan Morningstar (165), and Phillip Keddy (184) all recorded technical fall.</p>
<p>Seniors Brent Metcalf (149) and Jay Borschel (174), along with sophomore Jordan Johnson (heavyweight), all recorded pins.</p>
<div>McDonough, who had two technical falls and a pin in his first three matches, won by major decision, 13-3, against N.C. Pembroke junior Russell Weakley.</div>
<div>Dennis came away with the same result, recording a technical fall in 6:27  against T.D. Thurston.</div>
<div>In the 141-pound match, senior Dan LeClere didn&#8217;t allow a point to freshman Donovan Sweet, winning by major decision, 12-0.</div>
<div>Metcalf then continued to tyrannize his opponents, posting his fourth pin of the day and the Hawkeyes&#8217; first of the match, downing Brandon Bradley in 3:46.</div>
<div>Junior 157-pounder Jake Kerr posted two pins in his last two matches but couldn&#8217;t get anything going against Braves junior Rashaad Saunders, settling for a 2-0 decision.</div>
<div>Borschel matched Metcalf with his fourth pin of the day, sticking J.J. Davis to the mat in 2:44.</div>
<div>At 184, Keddy nearly scored a pin with 40 seconds left in the third period, but settled for the fourth Hawkeye technical fall of the dual late in the third period.</div>
<div>Senior Chad Beatty wrestled a close match until the third period, when he scored two takedowns in a row before winning a 11-4 decision.</div>
<div>Johnson finished out the match in style, pinning Erik Stancil in 2:47.</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Iowa wrestling team displayed complete dominance  against the Cornell College Rams, winning 57-0 thanks to three technical falls and seven pins — five straight at one point.</p>
<p>At 125 pounds, redshirt freshman Matt McDonough opened with a technical fall against Ram sophomore Timothy Hood in 4:17.</p>
<p>Senior Daniel Dennis (133) followed McDonough&#8217;s lead, also winning by technical fall against Alex Hughes, 25-7.</p>
<p>At 141 pounds, senior Dan LeClere started Iowa&#8217;s five consecutive pin streak, downing Ram junior Kevin Donahue in 5:15 after jumping out to an 18-4 lead through two periods.</p>
<p>Brent Metcalf continued the Hawkeyes&#8217; relentless pursuit of falls, pinning sophomore Jacob Schwebke in 4:35, giving Iowa two technical falls and two pins through the first four matches.</p>
<p>Junior Jake Kerr, not to be outdone, avenged his loss to Coe College earlier in the day by way of pin against sophomore Nicholas Loughlin in 5:54.</p>
<p>Senior Ryan Morningstar, who escaped with a 6-5 against Coe College&#8217;s Nick LeClere in his last match, posted Iowa&#8217;s fourth straight pin against senior Alex Riniker.</p>
<p>At 174 pounds senior Jay Borschel made quick work of Cliff Robertson with a pin in 1:35.</p>
<p>Phillip Keddy (184) broke the fall streak, but continued the domination, winning by technical fall against sophomore Andrew Roberts in 5:42.</p>
<p>At 197 pounds, senior Chad Beatty didn&#8217;t disappoint in his match, pinning Ram junior Robert Widmer in 2:31 for a sixth pin.</p>
<p>Heavyweight Jordan Johnson finished off the match with a pin of his own in 2:24.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Iowa wrestling team ousted Coe College, 39-3, Friday morning inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena to start the Iowa City Duals.</p>
<p>Junior Jake Kerr posted the Hawkeyes&#8217; only loss during the dual meet, losing to sophomore Dale Handley, 4-3, after surrendering a takedown late in the third quarter.</p>
<p>Iowa grapplers Daniel Dennis (133), Brent Metcalf (149), and Jay Borschel (174) each managed first-period pins.</p>
<p>With the Hawkeyes starting at 125-pounds, redshirt freshman Matt McDonough opened the six-squad meet with a technical fall against Kohawk junior Clayton Rush.</p>
<p>At 165, senior Ryan Morningstar made his match against former-Hawkeye Nick LeClere interesting. Morningstar won by decision, 6-5, thanks in large to a riding time point after being called for stalling three times — all in the final period.</p>
<p>Iowa senior Phillip Keddy also delivered excitement at the end of his match with Kohawk senior Tyler Burkle at 184. Keddy avoided an upset with a last-second takedown to win, 8-6, plus riding time.</p>
